Mongolian Projects

In 2005, Minarco's Beijing office commenced research on the Mongolian mining industry to independently assess the country's prospectivity for mining investment.

In 2006, we began working on several projects to assist in the value adding process, most significantly QGX Gold Limited's Baruun Naran Coal Project and and Erdene Gold's Zuun Mod Molybdenum Project. We also advised other western and Chinese companies in relation to coal and iron ore projects in Mongolia.

During this process we have gained a very good understanding of the drivers for project success in Mongolia, including issues related to infrastructure and market access.
